Man in Prayer Pose

I made this painting from a friend’s photograph and was drawn to the colour and pattern of his shirt, along with his pose. I especially enjoyed using light and colour temperatures to help create depth in his face and arms. It was very instructive for me as I was only beginning to appreciate how important temperature is in affecting the viewer’s perception.
