Sun Through Trees

This painting was made from a photograph taken by a close friend in a neighbourhood park. I was drawn to the sun creating a strong backlight, along with the wonderful colours in the leaves. It was another step in my learning to create a realistic-looking painting. At the time, I spent more time than I ever had on representing the many fallen leaves in the foreground.
