Birch Trees in Ice

Birch Trees in Ice

About

This painting was based on a photo taken by a friend. It was one of my earliest landscape paintings from a photograph. Before that, I had followed the Bob Ross method of creating landscapes from my imagination. In this painting, I loved the challenge of replicating what I was seeing, rather than simply creating a random scene from my head. Although I had learned a great deal from following Bob Ross’ methodology, I liked the opportunities for developing my skills that rendering allowed.
