Busy Pedestrian Street in Rome
About
During my 2023 trip to Italy, I became more and more fascinated with all the different types of people I saw. Just outside my hotel, there always seemed to be a large group of pedestrians walking up and down the street. I particularly liked this photograph because of the range of people, and the fact that some were closer and some further away. I was intrigued by the two women on the left, in front, who seemed to be looking and even whispering about something. I wondered if they noticed me, or if they were looking at the single man walking confidently and drinking from his green bottle. The challenge of capturing all the different expressions and movement was a large draw for me with this painting.
