Man selling his wares

This painting was made from a photograph I took in the spring of 2023. I was drawn to the interaction between the merchant man and the somewhat reluctant customer. He seems to be pleading with her to buy something. I also liked the figure in the background who was essentially ignoring the potential sale and was in fact walking away. As I observed the merchant, I found myself wondering what the woman listening to him was thinking.
