Scorched Landscape with Figure

I made this painting from my own imagination as I was learning to create sunsets. While working on it, it seemed to become something for which I had not planned. I also liked the idea of placing a figure seemingly on a cellphone looking like he was completely unaware of the beauty surrounding him. The cell phone, to me, represents something modern society has lost regarding the appreciation of nature’s beauty.
