Still Life Fruit and Candle

This painting was made from a stock photograph I found online. It started as a demonstration for one of my early classes, and once I got into it, I spent more time on it. Many of my students painted this exact photograph. I find it so interesting how each person’s finished product is both the same and different. It reinforced the idea that we bring ourselves into our work.
