Thich Nhat Hanh

This drawing was made from a friend’s photograph of a world renowned figure in the practice of meditation. It was my very first attempt at drawing with pastel. I was away for a few days with some friends and did not have my painting supplies. I got injured on the second day of the trip (broken ankle) and had to spend a lot of time sitting in the hotel. I decided to try drawing with oil pastels and found it to be very enjoyable and surprisingly similar to painting. I have since produced a few more pastel drawings, though this one remains my favourite.
