Zaidie Murray

This painting was made from a photograph of my late father-in-law. He was affectionately known as Zaidie Murray, which is a Yiddush term for grandfather. He had a wonderful relationship with his grandchildren, and I felt this pose captured so much of his essence. His warmth and loving nature are on display, along with his ever present sense of humour. He could keep us all laughing for hours! He passed away in 2011, but his presence remains. The painting hangs on the wall at my mother-in-law’s home.
